Day 6 October 30, 2016 Continue Up Kanab Creek and into Jumpup Canyon |
Today's route stats: Distance: 6.5 miles Elevation Gain: 550 feet Elevation Loss: 0 feetToday we hiked up Kanab and turned into Jumpup Canyon. The hiking was pretty easy; we had passed the most difficult section in Kanab. Jumpup is a favorite of mine and many others. It is interesting how conditions change over the years. There is, or was, a large pothole in a small alcove on creek right in Jumpup, about 1.3 miles from Kanab. The pothole is now completely filled in with gravel. It looks like the gravel has filled in up to about half way up in the "before" photo. |

We continued up Kanab past Indian Hollow and Kwagunt. We were looking for the first nice campsite after Kwagunt. It wasn't long before we stopped for the night. |
