Hike Out of Snake Gulch

Today we planned to continue hiking up Snake Gulch and turn left into an un-named canyon located about a mile from the usual trailhead.  When we got to the side canyon, we were relieved that there were no cliffs blocking our way.  Once we got into the canyon,  we started hiking up on the right side (creek left).  It was a bit steep.  Soon we saw what looked like a fairly good trail on the left side.  It looked too good to just be a game trail. We crossed the canyon and from then on we followed the trail to the rim.  It was much easier than Toothpick Canyon.  The following photos show the entrance to our exit canyon.

Once we got to the top, I retrieved my electric bike and began the 4.5 mile ride back to my car.  This shuttle could have been done pretty easily with a regular mountain bike, but I was happy to not have to work that hard.  At the car I had to fold up my bike and stow it back in my car.  I got back to Rich in a little under an hour.  We then drove back to Kanab where we checked into a motel.  The next day we headed for SB Point, Whitmore Point and other 4x4 roads in that area.
