Today's route stats: 

Today we hiked back to Hotel Spring.  Not much to add except that it was very enjoyable hiking.  Rob has a bird app on his phone which includes bird songs.  He began playing the song of the Canyon Wren, and within minutes several nearby Canyon Wrens showed up, probably angry that another wren had invaded its territory.  After sundown we were treated to swarms of bats and the "song" of croaking frogs.  It doesn't get any better than this.
